About

  • My name is Julianne, and I recently graduated with my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Presbyterian College in South Carolina. I also recently became a yoga instructor during my time as an occupational therapy student, last October of 2023.

  • When deciding on a capstone project as a student, I wanted to align my project with my interest in integrative health in occupational therapy and found a gap in the research regarding brain injury and adaptive yoga. Following approval of the IRB, I created a case-series research study utilizing both qualitative and quantitive research with two individuals with a history of stroke.

  • The two outcome measures included upper extremity function (quantitative data) and perceived functional outcomes (qualitative data). This website contains some of the research I have collected throughout my time as an occupational therapy student. I created this website to provide valuable resources and information to occupational therapists, students, and patients and caregivers regarding the use of integrative health approaches for neurological conditions including stroke and traumatic brain injury.

  • Stay tuned for weekly blog posts regarding integrative health approaches for both occupational therapists and patients/caregivers!
